Although many dogs may have a difficult time at a shelter, it is especially difficult for those who are up there in years.
Senior dogs not only have a difficult time getting adopted, but they also may not be able to handle the stress of the situation quite as well.
That is why when Shira with The Animal Rescue Mission saw a video of the shelter dog named Bruno, she knew that something had to be done.
Bruno is a senior dog that was so frightened being at the shelter that he couldn’t stop shaking.
Shira had seen many dogs in a similar situation, but never one that shook quite that much.
Chekechea is a foster volunteer who wanted to help Bruno. When speaking with the Dodo, she said that Bruno would cry all night long so she would sing lullabies.
It wasn’t long before he changed from being a frightened old dog to what she considered a “grumpy old man.”
About a month later, Bruno would meet someone that would offer him an opportunity that he truly deserved. It was a man who wanted to adopt the “little old man” dog and it was love at first sight.
